HEDGING PLANTS

(Alnus Glutinosa)

The Alder is quick growing, produces delightful yellow catkins and is a very bird friendly hedging plant.

A native deciduous plant that can grow up to 45cm each year. The Alder can be useful for screening or even as stock control.

Ideal in damp or wet locations, although it is not suitable for chalky soils or exposed and windy locations (see Acer or Hornbeam instead).

Supplied as 90cm (approx) plants. Plant about 50-60cm apart.
