(Taxus Baccata)
The common, or English Yew, is a compact evergreen that is very easy to manage. Copes very well in all conditions and is wind and drought resistant and prefers well drained soil.
A good choice for topiary work and can be sited in suitable sized pots, although we normally supply them as bare root plants.
Dark green leaves with yellow flowers in spring.
Will tolerate most soil types, including chalk. The English Yew can reach eventual heights of over 10 metres, after many years of growth, if left to grow as a tree.
Supplied as 30cm (approx) plants. Plant about 75cm apart.
